This is a collaborative presentation of the School of Social Work, Renison University College affiliated with the University of Waterloo and the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW).
During this event, Chizuru Nobe-Ghelani will discuss a renewed interest in nature as a site to foster physical and mental health well-being. Participants will have a glimpse of virtual forest therapy/shinrin-yoku walk, as a way to deepen their relationships with the natural environment. She then explores some ways in which time spent in nature could go beyond the individual realm of health and wellness and becomes a critical grounding site for social and ecological justice including community care and wellness.
