Renison Student Wins Special Prize at 42nd Annual Ontario Japanese Speech Contest
On March 2nd, Aaryn Xie, a Global Business and Digital Arts student, who is currently taking JAPAN 201R after completing both JAPAN 101R and JAPAN 102R, won a Special Prize at the 42nd Annual Ontario Japanese Speech Contest. She talked about how an ordinary citizen can be an everyday hero. Writing a speech in a foreign language and then preparing to present it in front of a large audience is not an easy task. In spite of the busy academic term,, Aaryn worked hard and delivered her thoughts to the audience in an excellent manner.
Aaryn said about her experience, "It was truly an amazing experience and opportunity to be able to participate in this contest. I was very lucky to be able to work with the wonderful Japanese teachers from Renison to make my speech, and I learned so much about the Japanese language, in both writing and speaking skills."
