Advanced Procedures Certificate Course 

The last day to register for the Advanced Procedures Certificate Course is March 29! This course teaches laser procedures commonly used to treat anterior segment disease and minor surgical procedures commonly used for eyelid lesions. Online modules must be completed by April 25, virtual live lectures are April 26-28, the hands-on workshops and review session are May 10-11 in Waterloo, and the online exam is May 13. 

OAO/UWaterloo Reception

The School of Optometry & Vision Science and Ontario Association of Optometrists are co-hosting a reception at the OAO Symposium and InfoMart 2024, to be held at RBC Place in London, Ontario. Please join us for some drinks, nibbles and networking. 

Vision Science Grad Conference 
April 22-23, 2024 

The annual Vision Science Grad Conference will take place at the School on Monday and Tuesday, April 22-23. Graduate students, residents and postdoctoral fellows will be presenting their research. Spectators are welcome. 

Larkworthy Memorial Lecture 
April 23, 2024, 4:30-5:30 p.m. 

Dr. Deborah McGregor, associate professor and Canada Research Chair in Indigenous Environmental Justice at Osgoode Hall Law School, York University, will be presenting Reconciliation: an Indigenous ontology of climate change” as this year’s Larkworthy Memorial Lecture, part of the Vision Science Research Seminar Series. Dr. McGregor's remarks will articulate what an Indigenous ontology of climate change looks like, with an emphasis on Anishinabek perspectives. Free, but registration is required.
