Campus News

Who's new at the Stratford Campus?

This year marks a milestone at the Stratford Campus – we have a full complement of students in every year of our undergraduate program, in addition to ongoing enrollment in our Master's program. We also continue to engage community, industry, and other key stakeholders.

To accommodate our continued growth, we welcome new members to our community to support our campus activities, and a introduce few familiar faces who are taking on new roles.

Jennifer Roberts-Smith joins the Stratford Campus as Acting Director, Academic Programs until December 31, 2015.

Jessica Thompson has taken on the role of Associate Director, Undergraduate Studies and will support undergraduate student advisement and programming.

Lennart Nacke has received a joint appointment with the Department of Drama and Speech Communication and the Stratford Campus.

Vivian Yang, has been hired as Lecturer for the Department of Economics and the Stratford Campus.

Sheri Maguire joins the Stratford Campus as Administrative Assistant providing logistical and administration support. You can find Sheri at the reception desk on the first floor!

A new face at the Stratford Accelerator Centre

Becka Borody

There is a new face in the Stratford Accelerator Centre (AC)! Becka Borody has joined the team as the Manager of Operations. She has recently completed her MBA and brings a strong working background in sales, marketing and the start-up community. A newbie to Stratford, Becka has been busy discovering what the city has to offer, including good coffee, swans, and people interested in entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship.

In her new role, Becka is helping to build out an amazing entrepreneurship program within the Stratford Campus. She hopes to foster collaboration between students, community and AC clients, and to create a networking space for people to develop knowledge, skills and an entrepreneurial spirit.

Students have the opportunity to take their classroom learning and apply it within a entrepreneurial community. Whether it's meeting visiting mentors from the Accelerator Program (who have a breadth of knowledge in financing, marketing, communications, culture, and strategy), or simply bouncing a business idea off someone, the Stratford AC provides a unique ecosystem that brings together likeminded people under one roof. If you've got a question about entrepreneurship, or have a start-up idea, the Stratford AC should be your first stop!
