Title

A Multigrid Approach To Patch-Based Image Inpainting

Abstract

A new approach to patch-based image inpainting within a multigrid framework that address the problem of the mask size effectively increasing as the image is recursively coarsened to smaller grids. The 'smoothing' operation found in partial differential equation multigrid is replaced by the structure propagating exemplar-based inpainting suggested by Criminisi, but with modifications to include initial guesses. The multigrid framework allows for global information to be included in the structure calculations and the patch selection. Some future research and improvements to this work are also outlined.
