Title

Seminar 1: Quantum measurement in Relativistic Quantum Information

Please note: this is apart of a seminar series,  Seminar 2 and Seminar 3 will follow on June 23rd and June 30th respectively.

Abstract

Relativistic Quantum Information (RQI) is a research field that extends the notions of quantum information theory to the relativistic regime, as described by the theory of special (and general) relativity. The notion of quantum measurement, or operation, is central in quantum information and in the foundations of quantum theory. In this seminar I will overview the technical and conceptual difficulties that come with the extension of quantum measurement theory to relativistic set-ups. This will serve as an introduction to the next two seminars that concern the issues of localization, locality and relativistic causality. These issues are crucial in RQI for the consistent description of quantum information processing in relativistic spacetimes.
