Central Stores will be offering a one month (M-F) departmental e-waste and surplus pickup initiative starting Monday April 21st and ending Friday May 23rd, 2014. Departments with university owned e-waste and surplus should email Brian Forler at beforler@uwaterloo.ca to be placed on a pickup list. In the email please list the items being picked up and the locations, so that a pickup date and time can be scheduled. This one month initiative will allow your department the opportunity to clear out e-waste “for disposal” and other items “for surplus/disposal” without the normal paperwork requirements. Any items deemed to be of high value, will be separated and a request for an “Asset Disposal Form” will be issued.
Central Stores has allocated staff specifically to handle this one month event and it starts Monday April 21st, 2014. So, please take advantage of this annual event and seize the opportunity to rid your department of space consuming electronic waste and other surplus items.
ACCEPTABLE ELECTRONICS:
CRT/LCD Monitors, Scanners, Computer Peripherals, Computers, VCRs, Copiers, TVs, DVD Players, Laptops, Stereos, Keyboards, Cell Phones, Computer Mice, Speakers, Printers, Toner Cartridges, Microwave Ovens, Wire.
Items accepted for Surplus pickup:
Desks, Chairs, File Cabinets, Bookcases, Office items, Lab equipment, Storage room items.
Also, please note that all Staff are invited to drop off personal e-waste items at our Central Stores, 263 Phillip Street, Waterloo location at any time throughout the year (M-F) from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
