Tuesday, October 28, 2014

Adriano ZaffinoPCL recognizes outstanding contributions by providing several deserving student workers with scholarships each year. The Peter Stalenhoef Student Scholarship rewards students who demonstrate leadership, teamwork, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to PCL’s vision and values. Winners receive $2,500 to put towards their education.

Adriano Zaffino, in 3B Civil Engineering, received multiple nominations for the scholarship.   During his summer 2014 co-op term, Adriano consistently exceeded the expectations of his supervisors and co-workers. Adriano was an exceptional resource for training amongst his peers. In addition to his strong leadership role at PCL, Adriano also maintained a very positive attitude and was consistently one of the last people to leave every day. His deliverables were always completed on time and with extra effort to ensure success for the entire time.

Adriano had a great work term in Fort McMurray, Alberta, and is thrilled to be the recipient of the scholarship. Here's what he had to say about his work term:

"During my time at PCL, I was challenged and able to grow both personally and professionally. Every day was fun and presented an opportunity to learn. I'm grateful to PCL for this award as it recognizes my drive to succeed and to make a difference in the workplace."

Congratulations, Adriano!
