At the October Meeting of the Bloomington Cove Culture Change Coalition (CCC) the team came together to vote on a new name. Bloomington Cove CCC has been re-named "Partnering Together for Change".
On an extremely windy and rainy day in October, members of the Huron County CCC met in Seaforth to begin their first meeting in which the group would come together to begin analysis of data from the Discover phase of the Appreciative Inquiry process.

In May 2012, Dr. Sherry Dupuis, Director of Murray Alzheimer Research and Education Program (MAREP) and the co-Prinicipal Investigator of the Partnership in Dementia Care (PiDC) Alliance was elected as a Fellow to the Academy of Leisure Sciences. Dr. Dupuis was one of just five outstanding researchers to be included in group in 2012. Just over 100 scholars have been elected as a fellow to the Academy since its inception in 1980.
The Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care in Markham is a Long Term Care (LTC) home for approximately 200 adults, primarily of Chinese and Asian descent. This home is working through the Dawning Phase of the Appreciative Inquiry process and is working on maintaining and building existing Authentic Partnerships.

What an amazing meeting!
We only had a few members at our meeting today, but we certainly made the most of it.
This was a big meeting. All of our Discovery recruitment materials are ready to be distributed and we are planning to begin our Discovery interviews and sessions within the next few weeks.
At this meeting, we prepared for Discovery by sharing tips and strategies for leading successful interviews/focus groups and keeping discussions positive and appreciative. We decided to skip our May meeting since we are all busy with Discovery, and we will meet back in June to debrief.
Having finalized Discovery plans, we move into developing a itemized ‘to-do’ list of where we are headed next. We determined our pool of possible participants is approximately 150 persons with dementia and family care partners, and 120 staff from multiple agencies within the Huron County. We are finally seeing how our work might translate into real action.
