Waterloo Pharmacy welcomes Rx2023 class to the alumni community
On Friday October 20, 2023, Waterloo Pharmacy celebrated the class of 2023 at an in-person convocation reception. Friends, family, faculty and staff all came together to congratulate the students and celebrate their achievements.
Our journey was unlike any other as we had three months to meet before we were forced online due to the pandemic. However, this didn't seem to matter because standing before me today are the leaders of the future of pharmacy. You my fellow graduates will go on to do many great things.

You’ve shown incredible resilience throughout these four years. Keep pushing boundaries as is the UWaterloo way.
During the reception, the following awards were presented.
School of Pharmacy Fourth Year Awards:
- Lisa McLean Award Professional Practice Award (for success in the professional practice sequence and in memory of Lisa McLean, the School’s first Professional Practice Lab Co-ordinator): Jocelyn Bonti-Ankomah
- Dr. Charlie Bayliff Memorial Award (for an exemplary student pursuing a residency, established in memory of Charlie Bayliff): Nicole Bakowski
- Fresenius Kabi Canada Student Leadership Award (for a student leader pursuing a hospital pharmacy career): Kyla Agtarap
- Dr. Frank and Juliana Wong Patient Care Rotation Awards (to support students with a strong commitment to serving their region when on patient-care rotations): Angad Bains, Maher Jibrini, Leona Spasik, Randilynne Urslak
