Kaylia Little is a doctoral candidate in Sustainability Management at the School of Environment, Enterprise, and Development, working under the supervision of Dr. Paul Parker and Dr. Juan Moreno-Cruz. Her research seeks to examine Energy Transitions in Arctic communities: Colonial Diesel Structures vs Possible Community Low Carbon Futures.
Kaylia holds a Masters in Development Practice from the University of Waterloo where she conducted a feasibility study on micro-finance in a remote village in southern Cameroon as a part of her field practicum. Since, Kaylia has worked as a Policy Analyst with the Ontario Native Women's Association on topics such as economic empowerment, child welfare, urban Indigenous issues, and environment before returning to Waterloo for her doctoral work.
