Submitting your transcripts

Applying from an Ontario high school

You don't need to send us your marks - your high school will automatically forward them to us via the Ontario Universities Application Centre (OUAC).

If you're taking night school or correspondence courses, you'll need to arrange for your school or the Ministry of Education to send your marks to the Office of the Registrar, University of Waterloo, as soon as mid-term and/or final marks are available.

If you have academic credits other than OACs or Grade 12 U or U/C courses, such as IBs or APs, you're strongly advised to inform the Office of the Registrar as soon as possible.

If you're taking pre-university courses through University of Waterloo's Distance Education program, you'll need to ask them to send copies of your marks to the Office of the Registrar as soon as they're available.

Applying from a high school outside of Ontario

You'll need to have your high school send the following directly to the Office of the Registrar, University of Waterloo:

  • an official transcript of your courses completed to date and the courses you're currently taking
  • a transcript of your winter mid-term marks as soon as they're available and no later than early April
  • a transcript of your final grades as soon as they're available

If you're attending a CEGEP, your school will automatically send us your mid-term and final transcripts. Our Admissions Committee also needs to see your high school marks. Please contact your high school and have them send an official copy of your transcript directly to the Office of the Registrar, University of Waterloo.

If you're applying from British Columbia, your marks will be sent electronically in mid-to late May. However, since many of our admissions decisions are made before these marks arrive, we recommend that you arrange to have an official transcript of your winter mid-term marks sent to the Office of the Registrar, University of Waterloo, as soon as they're available.

Applying from a college or another university

You'll need to make arrangements to have the following sent directly to the Office of the Registrar, University of Waterloo:

  • an official transcript of your high school marks
  • an official transcript of your final marks for any college of university courses you have taken and mid-term marks for any courses you're currently taking
  • copies of the calendar descriptions of any college or university courses you have taken or are taking so that our Admissions Committee can consider them for possible transfer credits
Official documents should be sent directly to:
