Activate your Waterloo email account

Follow the steps to set up your Waterloo email account. Your email address is your WatIAM username + @uwaterloo.ca. Having trouble? Email the IST help desk.

1. Enrol in Duo two-factor authentication (2FA) — it's required to log in
2. Log into WatIAM to enter a password recovery email address
3. Access your Microsoft 365 account with your @uwaterloo email and WatIAM password

Why is this important?

The university sends all official communications to your @uwaterloo email address. This includes emails you don’t want to miss about course selection, fee deadlines and messages from your professors.
