Abstract

In this paper we propose the Time Modulated Array (TMA) as a low-cost architecture to be employed as a GPS receiver with interference rejection capability. The controlling parameters of TMA for beamforming are investigated and are related to the weightings of a conventional phased array. Moreover, the capability of TMA to reject the interference signal is investigated using Least Mean Square (LMS) algorithm as an adaptive algorithm. The performance of the array under different interference angles indicates that it can reduce the effect of interference significantly while providing sufficient gain for the desired signal.
