Catalyst Conference Application

We have reached capacity for the 2025 Catalyst Conference. Please email catalyst@uwaterloo.ca to be added to the waitlist in case of cancellations.

Applications for the Catalyst Conference must include:

  • Application form

  • Personal interest application 

Please ensure that you name all files clearly so the whole package can be kept together.

ex: Jane-Smith-Catalyst-Conference-Personal-Interest-app

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until shortly before the conference (or until program capacity has been reached) - for this we recommend students apply as soon as their application is ready as there is limited space in the program.

Application form

The application form collects contact information, courses in progress, and other relevant information. This form also allows you to submit your answer to the Personal Interest Form electronically (if appropriate). 

Personal Interest

Use your preferred communication style to show us why you are the right fit for the conference! You can be as creative as you like with it. Video, audio, artwork, etc, the format is up to you; but be sure to show/tell us about:

  • Yourself and your interest in science, engineering, and leadership
  • Why you want to come to Catalyst
  • How you will benefit from the conference

You may submit your Personal Interest Application electronically (through the Application Form) or email a copy to catalyst@uwaterloo.ca. 

Maximum size: approx. 1 sheet of paper or 2 minutes of media
