(O Little Town of Bethlehem)
O little endpoint I did miss
despite my intention.
It was with great excitement
I began my titration.
But now it’s all messed up
the analyte’s hot pink.
The stopcock leaked by half a drop
and now I’m on the brink.
My base in excess I do fear
equivalence a long lost dream.
pH too high, I’m going to scream
cruel phenolphthalein.
O what am I to do
in this class of chemistry?
I’ll back titrate — no one will know,
saved by stoichiometry.
