This year’s Chemical Institute of Canada Beaumier Award for excellence in teaching chemistry at the high school or CÉGEP level in Canada is François Raymond.
The ceremony took place in one of the newly renovated teaching laboratories at Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf, where Raymond teaches organic chemistry and chemistry of solutions. A number of Raymond’s colleagues attended the award celebration, and a former student, Kenz Zaghib, gave an inspiring talk about the impact that Prof. Raymond has had on him as a science student.
François Raymond’s response to this award:
“Although this is an individual award, this recognition illustrates the high quality of the entire chemistry department team at Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf. Indeed, colleagues have been able to inspire me, motivate me and enlighten me for many years already. Thank you! In addition, this award highlights the high quality of college students who, through their desire to learn to achieve their dreams, energize me to teach with dynamism and passion on a daily basis.”
