Judging — Oganessian and our stakeholders

It was very nice to get acquainted with the drawings of young people. It was interesting to see how they perceive new elements. It seemed to me that they should have an abstract perception. In fact, each of them puts their own specific vision.

New Elements Team selected the TOP TEN submissions for each element. We asked our stakeholders to vote for the FINAL FOUR for each. We had over 20 judges from our original Periodic Table Project sponsors — 3M Canada, JWA Group, Chemical Institute of Canada, University of Waterloo Office of Research, University of Waterloo Department of Chemistry and our own Chem 13 News Editorial Board. Yuri Oganessian was also one of the judges — yes, that Yuri Oganessian! We were delighted to have him look at the creative element designs and help us decide on the FINAL FOUR tiles for each element.
