I would like to make three points regarding the article "The Exploding Gummy Bear", Chem 13 News, February 2014, pages 12 -14.)...
The hours that I don’t have to spend in the prep room have given me the opportunity to develop and to maintain the curriculum, which directly benefits students. How can chemistry teachers — the front line troops — develop any meaningful curriculum if their time is spent on mundane tasks better suited to a lab technician?
I really enjoy my job, I'm a chemist in academia. I get to wallow in the fascinating world of research science and then pass on my passions to eager young minds.
This series of articles considers some common organic molecules that we encounter in our everyday lives. Described will be some general chemical information about the organic molecule, how it is useful to us and other interesting facts.
