- Conrad Grebel University College students deliver peace-building workshops for 2,400+ local youth to help reduce conflict and bullying.
- Varsity student athletes mentor 5,500+ elementary and secondary students each year through the Team Up program.
- Our student-run Engineering Society has raised funds for various local charities for 38 years through its annual Bus Push.
- 200+ student-run clubs give back to the community in a number of ways.
- Students for the United Way partnered with The Working Centre, serving meals to 300+ people at St. John’s Kitchen (2015).
- Believe 4 Kids, a student run charity, donated $1,000 to the Kidsability Foundation (2015).
- Each fall our second-year Recreation and Leisure students work with the Stork Family YMCA and Harper Library to put theory into action by hosting 250+ children at the Waterloo West Neighbourhood Fest.

Through the City of Waterloo’s Town and Gown Committee, our students take a leading role on issues that matter to our community. They work with University staff, local government, Wilfrid Laurier University and Conestoga College to build stronger connections with their neighbours.

Engineering students give back through annual Bus Push
On Sunday, March 22, the Waterloo Engineering Society enthusiastically endured their annual Engineering Bus Push event.
By collectively pulling and pushing a school bus down our city streets and collecting pledges, this year’s 16 Bus Push volunteers raised over $700 for local charity, oneROOF: an organization that helps homeless and at risk youth in Waterloo region.
