Innovation and Emerging Technologies in Sustainable Aeronautics at University of Waterloo

AIMdayTM Sustainable Aeronautics is a workshop where corporate and industry professionals join University of Waterloo faculty members, on campus, to discuss innovation and emerging technologies in sustainable aeronautics.
Established in 2008 at Uppsala University, Sweden, AIMday has been implemented and refined by leading universities around the world.
AIMday is a unique and highly effective program for university-based researchers and organizations to connect, build partnerships and bring world-class research to life. By matching academic expertise with the needs of organizations, AIMday furthers understanding and enables new perspectives on real-world problems.
Themes include:
- Sustainable aviation fuels and clean fuel technologies
- Modelling, simulation tools and digital twin applications
- Sustainable air traffic management planning and best practices
- Optimization of airport equipment, crew, airspace capacity, and flight operation
- AI and machine learning principles to improve customer experience, safety, and efficiencies in aviation
- Human factors research including education and training technologies through Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), gamification methods and other techniques that can improve performance in operation, maintenance and optimization.
