Meet Chien-Chih (Joseph) Chen - a Ph.D. student in Electrical & Computer Engineering at the esteemed Faculty of Engineering, University of Waterloo. But don't let the academic jargon fool you, Joseph has a wealth of experience that makes him an exciting individual to interact with. Before starting his Ph.D. journey, Joseph led three teams to develop banking systems for one of Taiwan's emerging banks. He even collaborated with Microsoft Taiwan to establish a medical system.

Joseph's research interests are broad and include Blockchain, Game theory (Mechanism design), IoT, Security, and AI. His doctoral research primarily focuses on adapting Blockchain to make a positive social impact - such as developing a fake news prevention system.

Joseph's love for innovation and expertise is not just limited to his academic pursuits, however. He's also a mentor in a Taiwan Ph.D. scholar group and enjoys guiding young scholars as they navigate their academic journeys. Additionally, he's passionate about helping fellow students explore career options and transition smoothly into life at the University of Waterloo.
