Maizi Liao obtained his Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo in 2020. Subsequently, he completed his Master of Applied Science degree in Computer Engineering at the University of Waterloo, with the guidance of Professors Wojciech Golab and Seyed Majid Zahedi. Maizi possesses a wide-ranging interest in computer systems, artificial intelligence, and the crossroads of these fields (such as Sys4ML and ML4Sys). During his Master's studies, he focused on devising an incentive-compatible reward system for the proof-of-stake blockchain named Algorand. He also pursued research on constructing a distributed load balancer powered by multi-agent reinforcement learning. The outcomes of his research work during the Master's program were published in AAAMAS and SIGMETRICS.
