Velocity
Velocity is an incubator for pre-seed technology startups from the University of Waterloo and around the world. The program is designed to guide and amplify early-stage start-ups as they turn ideas into scalable companies with the potential for positive, global impact. Velocity has three main spaces, the downtown Velocity garage that houses the incubator, Velocity digital and Velocity science.
Velocity incubator
Located in downtown Kitchener, the incubator is where like-minded students connect and get inspired. Network with peers in person, co-work in our creative space and participate in community events.
Velocity digital
Unleash a new wave of software, electronic and medical technology ideas at Velocity digital, a 5G enabled hacking space for students. Get together and build with a like-minded network of students and access mentorship.
Velocity science
Students who require physical space to perform essential pilot studies, conduct experiments, assemble prototypes or hammer out their computational work have a place with their name on it in the Science Innovation Hub.
GreenHouse
Located at United College, GreenHouse is a social impact incubator for students and community members who want to create social or environmental change. We train students to develop entrepreneurial and intrapreneurial knowledge, skills, and mindsets and help them build their professional networks.
Grebel Peace Incubator
Located at Conrad Grebel College, Grebel Peace Incubator promotes innovative peace practices locally and globally by linking new ventures to social innovation tools that address complex human problems. With expertise in political engagement, we help transform systems and support PeaceTech initiatives.
