Lectures in Catholic Experience presents Matt Hoven
"In a Small Way, Hockey Can Improve the World": Father David Bauer's Vision for Canada's Game
Born in 1924, David Bauer grew up in a prominent Waterloo family that had strong connections to local, international and professional sport. Despite dreams of playing in the NHL, he chose to become a priest with the Basilian Fathers and dedicated himself to improving hockey for the nation's youth. He coached the St. Michael's Majors to the Memorial Cup in 1961 and then established Canada's National Team in men's hockey.
Fusion Conference
The Fusion Conference, operating since 2004, is a conference hosted at the University of Waterloo that merges knowledge from science, business, and technology fields through a unique theme each year. The conference is organized by students from the Science and Business program, but undergraduate students and high school students are welcome and encouraged to attend. The Fusion Conference prepares delegates for leadership roles by equipping them with the necessary knowledge and skills in our rapidly changing world.

Digital Tools and Methods: An Introduction to Data Cleanup
Learn the basics of cleaning up tabular data using OpenRefine. In this workshop, a combination of presentation, hands-on demonstration and question & answer period, data cleanup will be explored within the broader context of using data to answer a research question. No prior coding knowledge or web scraping skills are required to participate.

From the Kwantlen First Nation village of Squa’lets comes the tale of Th’owxiya, an old and powerful spirit that inhabits a feast dish of tempting, beautiful foods from around the world. When she catches a hungry mouse named Kw’at’el stealing a piece of cheese from her dish, she threatens to devour Kw’at’el’s whole family, unless he can bring Th’owxiya two child spirits. Ignorant but desperate, Kw’at’el sets out on an epic journey to fulfill the spirit’s demands.
