    • IST Organize for Success update (Bob)
    • Faculty Computing User Support Group (FACCUS) Help Desk (HD) Initiatives update. Review minutes from last HD Initiatives meeting. (Lisa)
      • Advertising:
        • digital signage
        • student success office could send some messages from their current student social media accounts (@uwaterloolife on Twitter and uWaterloo Life on Facebook)
        • list all help desks in one spot on the web- to include in advertising
        • reach out to the program or faculty admin assistants across campus who communicate regularly with students (many of these units send regular email updates to their students or could put us in touch with social media managers in each area
        • Housing's monthly newsletter
    • Idea to create a help desk video for Waterloo similar to:

  • Davis Centre (DC) Service Desk: The IST Service Desk in the DC Library is now a full time helpdesk; operation has extended into regular business hours
  • Who should be requesting the following types of changes? (should be done via RT, but who would be authorized to make these requests?)
    • Vacation messages: For example someone is on leave and a message has to be put on the account to redirect email to someone else? Or the redirect needs to be changed? (Peggy Day)
    • SharePoint administration, changing who is an administrator on a site: usually there are two administrators on a site, so if one is not available or leaves the other can do the additions and changes but sometimes people don't know who the other admin is (Peggy Day)
  • Windows 8 support: this fall is the first term Arts has seen a significant numbers of (mostly) students needing help with this OS. Have the residences have been handling a lot of Windows 8 issues as well? Other areas? What is needed to support Windows 8?
    • Possibility of IST providing Windows 8 troubleshooting training to our service staff on campus
  • Personal web sites: what level of support is provided for personal web sites? (Arts gets a few requests, mostly from grad and undergrad students)
  • IST Service Desk YouTube channel.(Lisa)
