There are many transformative impacts that current trends - rapid AI advances, climate change, globalization – have on the nature of work. The Future of Work (FoW) Institute examines how to proactively shape the future of work through the design of technology, social infrastructure, ethical policies, and educational practices. As work becomes more automated and decentralized, new opportunities emerge for designing useful technologies. At the same time, these shifts raise concerns about job displacement, well-being, social connection, and the need to uphold human values. The FoW addresses these challenges by exploring the impact of AI, automation, and hybrid work on society, education, and the economy.
