Enhancing the undergraduate admissions process at Waterloo

Welcome to Waterloo

Over 65,000 undergraduate applications for admission are received and evaluated by the University's Admissions team each year. This process often requires collaboration with colleagues from across more than 30 academic programs, representative of all six Faculties. Use of supplemental assessment tools beyond applicant grades, including interviews, questionnaires, portfolios, and Mathematics contests, aid in making an admissions determination.

Ensuring an inclusive process for future Warriors

Having completed an internal review of the undergraduate admissions processes in 2022, the Registrar's Office is now positioned to proceed with an external review of applicant assessment practices to ensure the University's approaches are fair, inclusive, accessible, and consider the diverse circumstances of applicants.

Technology that supports the Waterloo vision

A fundamental component of this initiative will be the implementation of Technosolutions' Slate Admissions & Enrollment platform -- a real-time student information system tailored to address the recruitment, applications, and admissions needs of the University.
