At this seminar, Michał will present the levels of automation of automated driving systems and the requirements of each level. He will describe the driving task and the responsibilities of the components of the automated driving system. Finally, he will introduce Waterloo's 'Autonomoose' project as an example of an automated driving system.

Bio

Michał Antkiewicz is an entrepreneur, researcher, mentor, and software consultant with broad knowledge and understanding of a range of topics related to software and computer science, including software development processes, practices, tools, programming paradigms, formal methods, and human aspects of software engineering.

Since 2018, Michał has been working on developing a simulator based on Unreal game engine for testing autonomous car software. Michał is coordinating the simulation team and the simulator is currently used by the autonomous driving team. Since 2016, Michał has been working on various aspects of autonomous vehicles, including architecture, real-time aspects, mapping, routing, and system integration (http://autonomoose.net).
