Description

Zabbix is a free, open-source monitoring and alerting tool for IT infrastructure.  Jordan will provide information on how monitoring configurations are structured in Zabbix, how to implement this service efficiently, and the impact this service has had at the Library.  We will also cover more advanced uses of Zabbix for automated monitoring of websites and SSL configurations.

Speaker Bio

Jordan Barnartt is an Information Systems Specialist for the Library department.  He first started as a co-op student employee, and then returned as a contract employee.  Jordan is also a third-year Honours Physics student at UW.  Outside of these responsibilities, he is an animation buff and spends time with his kittens, Weiss and Blake.
