What is DDI?

Speaker: Dave Aldwinckle, Supervisor, Networks

The Domain Name System (DNS) and Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) are essential services that play a role in every modern data network. IP Address management (IPAM) tools help administrators keep track of thousands of numerical addresses, and make associations between names, addresses, and devices. Altogether, DNS, DHCP, and IPAM, make up a suite of tools referred to as DDI.

This session will briefly describe DNS, DHCP, and IPAM and explain how they affect daily life; even if they go unnoticed.

An RFP for a DDI solution closed in 2022, and the implementation is underway. Details about the project timeline, as well as anticipated service impact will be shared.
