Longitudinal progression of knee osteoarthritis

Fifty-three individuals with clinical and radiographic knee osteoarthritis were followed for an average of 2.5 years. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and x-Rays were obtained at baseline and follow-up to quantify knee cartilage thickness and volume, as well as knee joint space. Strength and mobility outcome measures were collected every 3 months, and biomechanical gait analysis was collected every 6 months.
