Black and Gold Day features Waterloo soccer

For the first time in its history, Orientation’s Black and Gold Day featured the game of soccer with varsity games by both Warrior teams and events for minor soccer players.

The Waterloo Warriors and Waterloo Minor Soccer Association developed a partnership for the 2013 Ontario University Athletics (OUA) soccer season that kicked off with the Black and Gold Day event on Saturday, September 7.

Who comes to mind when we say…entrepreneur?

An undergraduate student of English and history might not be the first person to pop into your mind when you hear the word:  entrepreneur.

But Lindsay Kroes, a third-year co-op student in Waterloo’s Faculty of Arts took a recent work term to start her own business and write a local history book called Gather by the Avon.

STRATFORD, Ont. (Tuesday, 27 August, 2013) – The University of Waterloo Stratford Campus, Canada’s new collaborative campus for digital media technology and commercialization, is attracting international talent to its exclusive Gamification 2013 conference in Stratford, Ontario.

The conference will be the world’s first to truly bridge academic research and business opportunity in the arena of gamification – using game design elements in non-game contexts, in areas such as healthcare, education, financial services, entertainment and retail.

The University of Waterloo’s Student Success Office (SSO) knows that parents play a significant role in their children’s lives and hosts a series of parent orientation programs and events, to help parents move from a parenting to a coaching role.

Conrad Grebel marks 50th Anniversary

Conrad Grebel University College will celebrate its 50th anniversary this weekend with the largest reunion in its history.  Events run from Friday August 23 until Sunday August 25 with everything from a 1960’s alumni brunch to a talent show and sporting activities.

WATERLOO, Ont. (Monday, Aug. 19, 2013) – A “street-fighting” mathematician and an 18-year-old who took on global education systems in a provoking book are amongst those who will assemble for Equinox Summit: Learning 2030, an innovative global summit tackling the future of high school education, in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada from September 29 to October 3, 2013.
