Celebrating 60 years of innovation

by Staff, University Relations

Celebrate with us. Whether you're a current student, an alumnus, faculty member or staff, donor, supporter or community member, you are an important part of the University of Waterloo story.

In 2017, the University of Waterloo celebrates 60 years of innovation. When it was founded July 1, 1957, no one knew that a campus made up of two temporary buildings would have such a lasting impact on the world.

The federal government today announced it will contribute $32.6 million for the construction of a state-of-the-art engineering building at the University of Waterloo.  Minister of Small Business and Tourism Bardish Chagger, MP for Waterloo, announced the funding under a program to update research and innovation infrastructure.
