Farah is a graduate student in Geography at the University of Waterloo, fast-tracking into a PhD with a focus on climate adaptation and managed retreat. Her research centers on low-lying communities in Java, Indonesia. Farah brings a strong background in environmental management, international fieldwork, and stakeholder engagement, aiming to develop equitable, community-driven adaptation strategies. Currently, Farah is conducting field research in Indonesia in partnership with the Universitas Gadjah Mada.
She holds a Bachelor of Environmental Studies in Geography and Environmental Management, graduating with a gold medal and extensive community-based research. Farah is a SSHRC CGS-M award recipient and has co-authored a journal article, book chapter, and received over 20 academic and leadership awards.
