Mariah is the Resilience Lead with the Emergency Planning Secretariat. Her main goal is to plan and prepare communities to become resilient in the face of natural hazards, including those we face from the climate crisis. Mariah does this through EPS' regional action plan known as Hilekw Sq'eq'o to build resilience for First Nation communities and through the Lower Fraser Floodplains Coalition which is bringing together all 4 levels of government and stakeholders to develop a regional action plan for the Lower Fraser.

Mariah holds a master’s in Resource and Environmental Management. She possesses prior experience in the environmental management field through her master's and positions at Parks Canada and Watershed Watch Salmon Society.
