University of Waterloo

Sheridan is a Bachelor of Science graduate from the Department of Biology. Sheridan is passionate about sustainability, and the protection of ecosystems and communities in the face of climate change. While at the University of Waterloo, her studies focused on ecology, conservation, natural hazards, and resource management. Her undergraduate research explored the permanence of temporary wetlands essential to the nesting of the endangered Whooping Crane in Wood Buffalo National Park.

As a Master of Science student in Geography and Environmental Management at the University of Waterloo, Sheridan hopes to explore managed retreat and the opportunity for, and multi-benefits of, nature-based solutions and ecological restoration post-retreat.
