The focus of the Skeletal Muscle Biology and Cell Death Laboratory is to study the biochemical and molecular mechanisms regulating autophagy and apoptosis in skeletal muscle.
In particular, we are interested how mitochondria function and dynamics (biogenesis, mitophagy, fission and fusion, apoptosis) influence skeletal muscle formation, regeneration, adaptation and function.
