Research Interests
My research focuses on using 3D-printed, biocompatible bioreactor systems to culture osteoarthritic bone tissue ex vivo. Through this platform, I investigate key bone signalling pathways as potential therapeutic targets for modulating pathological bone remodelling in osteoarthritis. Specifically, I am examining the calcitonin signalling pathway in combination with mechanical loading to assess how these factors influence osteoarthritic bone changes and disease progression. Ultimately, my work aims to identify novel strategies to slow or reverse structural deterioration in osteoarthritic bone. After my Master’s, I aim to attend medical school with the goal of becoming a surgeon.
