Our 2015 United Way campaign was one of our best campaigns ever. Students, faculty, staff, alumni, and retirees demonstrated that the University of Waterloo is a caring and contributing member of our community.
UWaterloo's workplace campaign continues to be engaging, rewarding, and fun, but most of all, it makes a difference.
2015 campaign highlights include:

Workplace campaign goal was $260,000

Together, we raised more than $267,536, enabling local agencies to:

provide language and employment support for 260 newcomers to Canada
-
help 144 seniors maintain their independence by offering hearing support classes
-
organize workshops focused on independent living for 500 homeless youth, helping them get a new start in life

give 480 women who have experienced trauma an opportunity to participate in support programs
-
provide 1,200 meals for those in need

Over 130 campus volunteers organized events and activities

With more than 55 events planned across campus

Contributing $25,000 in the process

Largest single donation was $10,000

This year we had 107 first-time donors

Members of the University of Waterloo’s Executive Council heeded Dean of Arts, Doug Peers, call to donate:

Reaching 100% participation from 550 executive council donors

Including 81 leaders and 52 friends

Increasing donations by 50% over last year

Contributing a cumulative total of $28,000

2015 also saw $29,000 in new donations at the United Way’s leadership giving level

Matched by the Guloien Family Challenge Grant, turning $29,000 into $58,000 for the United Way of Kitchener-Waterloo & Area
