Introducing the Ontario Water Works Association/Water Environment Association of Ontario (OWWA/WEAO) Student Chapter Writing Café: a welcoming space designed for students in water-related fields to focus, write, and connect with peers. Whether you’re an undergraduate student working through assignments or a graduate student tackling research papers and theses, the Writing Café offers a supportive environment to help you stay productive and motivated.

Our sessions use the Pomodoro focus method: 25 minutes of dedicated, distraction-free writing followed by a 5-minute break to recharge, chat, or grab a coffee before diving back in. This structured approach helps improve concentration, reduce burnout, and make large writing tasks feel more manageable.

Join us every Wednesday this Fall for a collaborative writing experience where ideas flow, progress happens, and productivity thrives. Bring your laptop, your notes, and your writing goals!

Halloween Social: Campfire & Trick-or-Trade

Join the OWWA/WEAO Student Chapter and SWIGS for a night of campfire ghost stories, snack roasting, and candy trading at the Laurel Lake Fire Pit on campus! 

• Bring your own chocolates/candies for our trick-or-trade (where we'll swap treats)!
• We'll be providing marshmallows and wieners for roasting - for those who register or as supplies last!
• Feel free to come with a ghost story to share with the group
• Dress for the weather! It might get chilly, but if it isn't a downpour of rain outdoors, the event will go ahead and we will keep warm by the campfire.
