Michael McKie, PhD, PEng

Associate Partner / Senior Project Manager / Infrastructure – Water Engineering

Michael McKie is a Senior Project Manager at CIMA+ focused on planning, design, construction and system monitoring. He completed his BASc at the University of Waterloo in 2012, followed by and MASc (2015) and PhD (2019) at the University of Toronto, where he specialized on process optimization, biological filtration and innovative approaches to municipal water treatment.

Lauren McGregor

Engineering Trainee / Infrastructure – Water Engineering

Lauren McGregor is an engineering trainee at CIMA+ with more than three years of experience related to water/wastewater and water resources engineering, and additional co-op experience in other areas of civil engineering. Lauren graduated from McMaster University in 2021 with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and a minor in sustainability. In 2024, she completed a master’s degree in civil engineering at the University of Waterloo. In addition to her research experience in drinking water treatment and water quality analysis, Lauren has industry experience supporting process design and project management activities on a range of small to medium projects, including; design and construction projects; inventory, condition, and capital planning (ICC) assessments; and Municipal Class Environmental Assessments.

Christopher Sweetingham, PEng

Infrastructure – Water Engineering

Christopher graduated from the University of Windsor in Civil Engineering in 2017, and has been working with CIMA+ for seven years in the drinking water infrastructure group. He has experience in water and wastewater, with his main focus on drinking water storage – such as steel reservoirs, water towers and concrete reservoirs. His work often involves attending site to ensure works are being performed correctly, and he has transitioned from being an EIT and site inspector, into a project engineer and manager.
