The Web Advisory Committee (WAC) is an advisory committee of the University, sponsored by the Web Steering Committee. Its mandate is to make recommendations on all aspects of web planning, development and practice on campus. As a representative body of web developers and maintainers from all parts of campus, it also acts as a forum and, where appropriate, as an advocate for the UW web community on future directions, accessibility, design, best practices, web governance, etc.
Meetings are held monthly and minutes of the Web Advisory Committee are provided for the campus community.
Over the past few years, the Web Advisory Committee has sponsored several projects, including the Waterloo Content Management System, Investigations into Web Search Facilities, Domain Name Resolution, Guidelines on the Re-Use of Content, etc. For a complete listing of projects see "Projects."

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land promised to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is centralized within our Indigenous Initiatives Office.
