WCMS 3 updates
WCMS Kitchen sink survey
- At the last meeting, I had asked that anyone who answered ‘yes’ to specific questions from the WCMS Kitchen sink survey reach out to the team for some follow-up questions, specifically to provide more information on Live stream, tables, and metatags. No one has reached out over the last month, so we are going to be sending out some direct follow-up questions by early next week. I’ll send them to the main POC email list, as well as include the information in the upcoming UWweb email.
But today we would like to take some time to ask this group some of the questions directly, calling on those who would like to answer.
Metatags:
- using the Teams "raise your hand" feature, please "raise your hand" if you have ever set up meta information on a single piece of content that uses different information between Facebook (Open Graph) and Twitter.
- please "raise your hand" if, other than the "robots" choices, you ever add additional meta information that isn't set by default.
- please "raise your hand" if anyone has any sort of meta information that they'd like to add at the page level that they currently can't add, or have any additional comments about meta information.
Livestream
- please "raise your hand" if you are aware of anyone that is literally using or planning to use the website called "Livestream" to live stream videos and is currently embedding them on the page? Which, using or planning.
- please "raise your hand" if are you currently embedding live streams using either Vimeo or YouTube.
- please "raise your hand" if you have live streams elsewhere that you are not embedding in the WCMS that you would like to.
WCMS course offerings
- Regarding the WCMS courses, we’re wondering if POCs are liking and managing with their staff completing the WCMS training courses via LEARN, or if there may be a need or desire for an in-class workshop for WCMS 2.
WCMS Technical Update (Kevin Paxman)
- Patching for “500” errors – Friday between 9 and 10am
- Announcement coming soon re: 2.9.0 release schedule; intending to start updating pilots next week and production the week following, with forms and vote sites the week after that
