Three research groups within the Waterloo Centre for Astrophysics today found out that they have been awarded over 4000 cpu years of computing time for science analyses over the next year. These resources were awarded following a national competition run by Compute Canada (which is soon to be taken over by the Digital Research Alliance of Canada).
In total, the WCA received over a third of the computing resources awarded to groups based at the University of Waterloo. The Principle Investigators of the research groups involved and the project titles are: Avery Broderick “Resolving physics at the event horizon", Will Percival “Cosmology from galaxy surveys", and James Taylor “Dark matter structure as a test of cosmology and particle physics".
