Future MDSAI student offers data science skills in fight against COVID-19

The Public Health Agency of Canada is recruiting volunteers to help with contact tracing and case recording. Future MDSAI student starting Fall 2020, Max Niebergall, is one of more than 34,000 people who have registered.

Max said: "I am a strong believer in the value of community, and in the idea that people who are relatively lucky in life have an obligation to help those who aren't so fortunate."

Most of the volunteer work will be performed remotely from home, with flexible schedules to be established based on needs and availabilities provided. Interested volunteers are eligible to apply for the national volunteer program until 11:59 p.m. PT on April 24.
