The excitement is mounting as the University is preparing to celebrate in-person convocation ceremonies with the graduating class of 2022.
In addition to the in-person convocation ceremonies, we want to continue to acknowledge the exceptional accomplishments of our PhD graduates, as we have done in the last two years through our PhD celebrations. To that end, Graduate Studies and Postdoctoral Affairs is pleased to host an exclusive virtual celebration for University of Waterloo’s newest doctors on May 26 from 4:00 – 5:00 pm EDT.
The virtual celebration invitation is extended to 200+ doctoral graduating students, their supervisors, guests, and senior leaders at the University of Waterloo – including Faculty Associate Deans, Graduate Studies.
Everyone is welcome. Register to attend and submit photos/videos that commemorate time spent at Waterloo, or offer congratulations. The deadline is May 16.

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is co-ordinated within the Office of Indigenous Relations.
