International relations

The University of Waterloo's institutional strategies includes enhancing its presence internationally, achieved in part by collaborating with institutions of excellence. Waterloo has partnerships with more than 300 universities and research institutions in more than 50 countries/regions/locations.

Our successful partnerships are founded on strong connections between people and are driven by faculty members and students. Waterloo International helps negotiate large-scale institutional partnerships with leading international research organizations and assists individual researchers with project-level global collaborations. These partnerships create countless international opportunities for our faculty and students.

Visits with University-wide scope

Waterloo International acts as a subject matter expert and provides central co-ordination on institutional international relationship-building activities. Examples of such activities include:

• hosting visiting delegations
• assessing partnership requests
• supporting relationship building between international partners and campus stakeholders
