Grebel Groundbreaking

Date: April 23rd
Time: 4:30pm
Location: Conrad Grebel Cafeteria
Cost: Free

In the fall of 2020, Conrad Grebel University College students will start the school year equipped to be more welcoming and inclusive than ever before!  On April 1, the Board of Governors approved the budget and final plans for a brand-new kitchen and an expansion of the dining room. To celebrate the start of this essential project, a Ground Breaking ceremony will be held at the site of the new kitchen. Come speak with the students involved in the project and learn how the renovation and expansion will increase their quality of living at Grebel! A light reception will follow the program.

Global Challenges to Canadian Sovereignty in the Arctic

Date: April 24th
Time: 8:30am-4:30pm
Location: The Royal Canadian Military Institute
Cost: $50 (students)

Students are invited to the Royal Canadian Military Institute's new conference, titled "Global Challenges to Canadian Sovereignty in the Arctic! Keynote speakers include the Honourable Bob Rae, Former Premier of Ontario, and the Honourable David Akeeagok, Deputy Premier of Nunavut. The conference will feature panels on: Arctic Defence and Security Challenges, The Effect of Arctic Climate Change, and The Future of Canada's North.

Breaking the Silence Community Development and Human Rights Cooperant Program
The Maritime-Guatemala Breaking the Silence (BTS) Network is seeking applicants for its new initiative, the BTS Community Development and Human Rights Cooperant Program! BTS is a voluntary Maritimes-based network that supports Guatemalan human rights and community development groups working for social, economic, environmental, and cultural justice. They are hoping to create a team of 6-8 cooperants to work in placements with their Guatemalan partners.

Can't make it to in-person wellness services and sessions? Counselling Services also provides online resources for mental health help! These resources include apps, videos, podcasts, and information about other available campus resources. They also have information about specific mental health issues and possible resources to help with each problem.
