The competition to sing the national anthem in front of thousands of people at the University of Waterloo 2013 Canada Day Celebration is open
By Media RelationsWATERLOO, Ont. (Tuesday, May 28, 2013) – The competition to sing the national anthem in front of thousands of people at the University of Waterloo 2013 Canada Day Celebration is open.
The party takes place at the Waterloo campus on July 1.
To enter, contestants must record a video of them or their group performing O Canada, and upload it to YouTube via the University of Waterloo online submission form at https://uwaterloo.ca/canada-day/video-contest-canada-day-2013. Full contest rules, regulations and information are also available on that site.
The contest is open to legal residents of Canada of all ages, and it closes on Monday, June 17, 2013, at 9 a.m. Eastern Standard Time. There is a limit of one submission per individual or group.

Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is co-ordinated within the Office of Indigenous Relations.
